Definition of AMP is that -
"It is a project backed by Google - with a goal to load static content faster for mobile users by pre-rendering the page in Google Search. AMP HTML is a stripped down version of your normal webpage source code, which means that JavaScript features which are not part of the AMP library will not work."
searchenginejournal says and I quote - "AMP has essentially overhauled the core elements of how websites structure their mobile pages. It’s broken down into three sections:
Google Mobile Update and Google Hummingbird stresses on the faster loading websites! So does it mean that AMP helps webpages to rank higher in the SERP for a given keyword as they are align with the Google Updates?

- AMP JS: A new Javascript structure for mobile pages that allows all loading of external resources asynchronous.
- AMP CDN (Content Delivery Network): This will take your AMP-optimized content and cache them for fast delivery."
