Business SEO and social media

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on setting up a business and would like some guidance on options for domains, SEO and social media setup...

We're looking to create a Thai restaurant (still deciding on the name) in the UK.

So we're planning a domain with the word Thai and something before it, and registering .co.uk.

[something]thai.co.uk

Would it be best to include the word 'restaurant' after [something]thai? Or would it better to include the location after [something]thai.co.uk? Or both 'restaurant' and [location]? What works best for SEO and marketing? Is it best with industry keyword (restaurant) or location?

In terms of Facebook, what might best for the page name and username/vanity URL? [something]Thai[Restaurant] or [something]Thai[location] or [something]Thai[Restaurant][location]? (The last options seems a bit long?)

If there are other businesses with a similar name how can you use keywords to stand out in search engine results?

And with a UK business, is it best to go with a .co.uk domain or better with .com? Does it make any difference? Or should we register both .co.uk and .com domains that are available?

Thank you!

Domain name plays an important role in boosting your business online. If you want to make your business a brand you have to keep an eye on every single and small detail. This means domain name also has an effect on your business, and when we talk of redirecting traffic online ShaveEO will always be a key factor.

Yes, you heard it right you can keep any domain name you prefer ( [something]thai.co.uk, [something]Thai[Restaurant] or [something]Thai[location] ) but you can follow these guidelines for making it more effective:
  • Your domain name should be easy to read. if your domain name is not easy to read your visitors might not click on it to reach you, thus you'll end up with poor CTRs.
    • Avoid numbers
    • Keep yourself aware of any misspellings
    • The domain name should be memorable and not compelling
    • short and simple
  • Use keywords in your domain name smartly not with the intention of stuffing. While doing SEO you can be smart but you can never outsmart search engines. It was a very old practice that webmasters preferred keyword stuffed domain names in order to make their URLs rank on top. But Google proved to be smarter than everyone and started to consider these as low-quality sites.
  • Prevent using dynamic parameters in your domain name, such as [No.1thairesturant.com]. Other dynamic parameters include equals sign, arithmetic signs, etc.
  • For making your domain name more effective and short, prevent stopping words such as for, to, and, etc.
These are some tips that can use while choosing your domain name. If you want your business show on top of the SERPs for local search here are some tips:
  • Add keywords to your content that are based on local search queries such as "best Thai restaurant in London", "Thai restaurant in London", etc.
  • KML sitemap submissions for your site can be a very helpful point that can be worked upon.
  • Submitting your business on Google My Business.
I hope these might points might help you. :) And wish All The Best for your Business. :)

You mentioned Google My Business... would it be best to create a Google Business account from/linked to a personal account or should we create a completely separate account?

And we need to setup our facebook page and vanity URL... would it be a good idea to go with brand title?

Thank you!

Pointing out towards your first point the I think lolosthai.co.uk is fine as for the domain name. I would also suggest going with a .co.uk domain as your business is focussed on the U.K. Talking of Google My Business yes you can create an account with the personal name I would recommend doing it with a separate account to make it look professional.

Avoid redirects to as much possible.
Thank You :)

And as always please free to discuss by any means DMs, Skype, and Mails.

Hi

You need to include "thai" in your domain. It will help so much. I have few other businesses ranking no 1 on google just because the main keyword is included in the domain.

Of course there are other factors that matters, but if you and your competition are promoting your companies in the same ways, but your website is called xxx-thaifood.com, you will be ranked mych better

100%

Thank you Jennifer Neon

Would it be worth creating a Facebook Business Manager account (business.facebook.com/)? We need multiple people to be able to log into the business page and post/maintain.

Also, I just wanted to check with you in terms of the Google My Business account setup... So I have my personal account (with my personal first name and last name) and you mentioned 'doing it with a separate account to make it look professional' - how would I create a separate account?

Thank you!

It's my pleasure :) So, yes you have taken a good decision regarding your domain name. Talking about your Facebook Business Manager Account I can give you the right idea if you want to consult with our Social Media Team.
Talking of Google My Business use you for [First Name] and [Last Name] use your name but put correct info. where it asks your business name.
Also, I would suggest you go to outsourcing an SEO team that gives Local-based SEO service. Also, if you want to connect with me personally checkout my Email and Skype link in the signature below this conversation.
