Can A Website Have Few URLs?

Hi

I have a sofa cleaning website and a carpet cleaning website. In both websites i have "sofa cleaning" option . I was thinking to re-direct the url from my carpet cleaning business, sofa cleaning option, to the home page of sofa cleaning website. But my web designer won`t have it. He is totally against it.

Onlinetradesmen com

Same website, two urls. This website ranks very well in Ireland. So is possible.

Any recommendations?

Bit confusing by your post , if I understand.

You have

sofacleaningwebsite.com
Carpetcleaningwebsite.com/sofa-page/

And you want to redirect the sofa page to the sofa website ? correct ?

If so providing it is a 301 redirect, and you are not masking the URL so the content is visible via multiple domains , i.e meaning the content is duplicated then you would be fine.

If the content is accessible via more than one URL though, thats bad and you shouldnt even consider it.

Thank you for your answer. All i try to find out is if a website can have few urls?

If you buy gold com, as your main website, can you also buy gold ie, gold net and gold info & all of it to go to the same website?

In ireland, onlinetradesmen com and onlinetradesmen ie brings you to the same website. I am not allowed to add links yet so the space is the dot.

I just need an independent opinion beside my web designer. How come other websites can do it ?

Redirecting is fine, having the same content accessble via different URL's is not.
