Core Update & Comparison Sites

Shout out to anyone that is involved in a comparison site. I have done some market research and following the October core update google search traffic has fallen 20 - 35% for all product comparison sites in the UK and slightly less worldwide. It is super noticiable and they all drop on the same date.

Anyone got any insight on this? Are google just going after comparison sites so their own service is favoured or is it to do with a common feature of comparison sites?
