Hi all,

I am new to the forum!

Another site has done a feature about my website, which has resulted in a significant increase in traffic, from people entering our name directly into Google. Does this improve overall rankings for our keywords and if so how long does it take to impact it roughly?

Cheers Andy

Are they actually coming onto your site? As in have you actual traffic to your site improved? Also what was the backlink you received was it branded, generic, partial match?

I don't believe that people just searching withing Google for your site will make any difference at all, However, if your site is seeing an increase in visitors that are staying around rather than just bouncing this may well improve your SEO value whether or not you will see an increase in rankings is another question.

It also depends on who is already ranking for the keyword in question.

It could be an indirect signal but I wouldn't focus on it as an optimisation strategy. I think there could be a link between the two but it is difficult to prove it.
