Does removing the breadcrumbs from mobile e-commerce site affect organic SEO?

I've come across a number of online retailers that don't feature the breadcrumb trail on their mobile site, but do have it on desktop. I was wondering whether there is a reason for this and whether removing the breadcrumbs from mobile has a negative impact on organic SEO?

Thanks

Breadcrumb helps users to navigate better the site, as well as search engines to discover/index pages.
When implemented, it also makes the URL in the SERP shorter and easy to read tush it has a higher chance to be clicked on.
In my opinion, having it implemented without errors can only benefit both users and your site, I would never remove it from the desktop or mobile version of my website.

Are they being "hidden" with CSS or physcially removed ? If a breadcrumb is useful then you should try and retain it, but I also understand sometimes it's just another element which fills up real estate on a small screen.

Removing breadcrumbs entirely for mobile, could have a knock on effect since we are now in the era of mobile first indexing.

The removal of breadcrumbs from a mobile e-commerce site can potentially impact organic SEO. Breadcrumbs play a crucial role in enhancing user experience and providing clear navigation paths for both users and search engines. They offer valuable context to visitors about their location within the site hierarchy, aiding in easier navigation.

From an SEO perspective, breadcrumbs contribute to the overall site structure, helping search engines understand the relationships between different pages. If removed, it might result in a loss of this contextual information, potentially affecting the site's crawlability and the search engines' ability to index and rank pages effectively.

Careful consideration should be given to the impact on user experience and site structure before deciding to remove breadcrumbs from a mobile e-commerce site, as it can influence both the usability and SEO performance of the website.
