Question Getting rid of 2 sub websites, consolidating into main website

Hi,

So I currently have 3 websites on the project that I'm working on, the main website with some basic but not very effective SEO and 2 other websites that my manager has decided to close down as they are not SEO friendly whatsoever to the extent that they're not even listed on Google.

So all of the products have been made available on the main website, however I feel as though I could use the other two domains to add some traffic to the main domain. I created a simple index page with a javascript redirect after 10 seconds showing the end user that we've moved to the main site but is this SEO friendly or will this track badly with Google algorithms and reduce the main website's listing.

Any advice on what to do here?

You should be 301 redirecting ( htaccess is probably easiest ) all important pages to their new equivalents. You can also use a site such as http://www.redirect-checker.org. Which will check your redirect routes and ensure you are using 301's properly.

For best practice you should really add the old domains to Search console and tell Google they have changed URL's too.
