Google not picking up changes in my site title or meta description?

Hello!

First post so not 100% of this is the correct place to ask for help sorry in advance if it isn’t.

I am quite new to SEO and trying to learn as I go, I’m making my site with Wordpress and using the yoast plugin.

I changed my title and meta description in my homepage about 2 weeks ago and it still isn’t showing the changes on google search, I have changed other pages titles and they have change straight away!

Am I missing something? Is there something I am doing wrong? Sorry if this is a silly question or I am being vague.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

website is missoldcarfinance.org

thanks in advance

Danny

Hi @DannyD86, I checked your site with some free tools (like Ubersuggest), it all looked fine to me. But you've mentioned you use Yoast Plugin for your site, I checked with their articles and came along these reasons for you situation:

Wrong Source Code

The source code for your site might be missing a meta tag or you've have used more than one meta tag on your page.

Search Term Manipulation

In a case where you use a search term for finding your page then Google manipulates the description in order to highlight the Search Term.

Outdated Google Cache

This happens when you've updated the description but Google hasn't indexed your page with the changes. Type cache: followed immediately by the URL of your site or page, you'll see what Google has cached for your site. If the date is before you've made changes this means we've for Google to crawl your site again.

Here's the Yoast Article for your reference:

thank you for your post. google does what google wants, but being secure https will stop you being de-indexed. google will flag an error in my code if i link to a http site, and it seriously harms your chances of getting into the mobile web. good luck, onwards and upwards

Hello Danny,
Are you registered for Google Search Console?
I find it beneficial to re-submit any pages where I have made changes to ensure Google is aware. In my experience changes are adopted really quickly.
Regards
Neil
