Hi all - new to the forums
Context: I've recently redesigned and rebuilt a Wordpress site, getting rid of lots of irrelevant / out of date content.
An issue we had was one of our core pages was showing for too many search queries - for whatever reason, Google took it to be our most important page.
The redesign, architecture, breadcrumbs etc should all make clear that this page is not the key page (though still useful)
Problem: Over the last few days, for that page, Google has re-written the Title tag showing in the search results to something meaningless which will reduce click-through rate.
HTML Title tag is: Discounting vs Factoring - [brand name] (admittedly could be better)
Google search results (desktop) showing as: Product Discounting vs Factoring Factoring and invoice...
It doesn't seem to be happening to any other pages (yet).
Any ideas why and whether I should be worried??
Cheers
Richard
