Pretty ground breaking news from the BBC yesterday, apparently Google are planning to change their simple, single search box homepage to more of a news feed.

Google is adding a personalised Facebook-style news feed to its homepage - Google.com -to show users content they may be interested in before they search.

What impact do you see this having on natural searches, assuming we could optimise for being included into personalised results of the feed ?

I saw this doing the rounds a couple of months ago, did it even happen? I've not personally seen it for Google homepages as I've travelled around Europe ?. Maybe it's only for Google.com currently?
