How best to optimise my site

Hi
I work for Brickcraft Developments, we're a property development company but also have a joinery workshop (Brickcraft Bespoke) in Nottingham, which we are trying to promote online. We specialise in timber windows and doors but also make the occasional piece of furniture, but when you search for "timber windows nottingham" we're impossible to find.
We've got quite a simple website and I'm struggling to improve our Google ranking. It's a wix site and I've completed the wix suggestions and checked headings and alt text for images but it doesn't appear to have made a difference.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Wix has a bad rap in the SEO community and while they’re better, they’re still not good.

For one you can’t export your sites. This means when you decide to expand beyond the limits of Wix’s, which is rather easy to do like wanting to do more with SEO or add in an e-commerce, you’ll find the platform is lacking … so you’ll be wanting to leave. But then you’ll find that Wix doesn’t allow users to export their site to another platform, so you’ll need to scrape all the data, save it, move, and re-upload it.

And a lot of people that use Wix say the Googlebot has a hard time crawling Wix sites. If a page isn’t indexed ... for Google it’s worthless. It’s invisible, so there is no SEO value. To top it off Wix gave its clients bad SEO advice to justify the flaws in it’s platform, now that's someone I couldn’t trust!

Now that I’ve finished bad mouthing Wix, I’ll end with … you might want to get some links to the page your wanting to rank with the keywords your wanting to rank for in the anchor. Of course you need to mix it up so it doesn’t look like that's what your doing.

For example:

Write an original post for ...

  • Facebook
  • Tumblr
  • Twitter
  • Stumbleupon
  • Bizsugar
  • Bloukbe
  • Delicious
  • Linkedin
  • Storify
  • Triberr
  • Pinterest
  • Inbound.org
  • Kingged.com
  • Myblogguest.com
  • Blogger.com
  • WordPress.com
Make all the content original and write the content so each piece adds to the next and link them together in that order and somewhere in the post put a link back to the page your wanting to rank for mixing up the keywords a bit with even a “click here”.

To optimize your website, you need to conduct thorough research to identify relevant, high-traffic keywords that you can target. After that, ensure that your website's content is of high quality, engaging, and optimized for the identified keywords. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly and has fast loading times. Additionally, build high-quality backlinks from authoritative websites and regularly update your website with fresh, relevant content. To optimize your website for better search engine visibility and user experience, consider implementing the following best practices:

  1. Keyword research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant keywords and phrases that your target audience is searching for. Use these keywords strategically throughout your website's content, including in titles, headings, meta tags, and within the body of your pages.
  2. Quality content: Create high-quality, informative, and engaging content that aligns with your audience's needs and interests. Aim to provide unique and valuable information that sets your website apart from competitors. Regularly update your content to keep it fresh and relevant.
  3. On-page optimization: Optimize on-page elements such as meta tags (title and description), headings, URLs, and image alt text. Ensure they accurately describe the content and include relevant keywords where appropriate. Optimize your website's loading speed by compressing images, minifying code, and utilizing caching techniques.
  4. Mobile-friendly design: With the increasing use of mobile devices, it's crucial to have a responsive and mobile-friendly website design. Ensure your website adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes and provides a user-friendly experience across devices.
  5. User-friendly navigation: Design intuitive and easy-to-navigate menus and site structure. Ensure that visitors can find the information they need quickly and easily. Use clear and descriptive anchor text for internal links to guide users and search engines through your website.
  6. Secure your website: Implement SSL encryption (HTTPS) to secure your website and protect user data. A secure website is not only important for user trust but also a ranking factor in search engines.
  7. Link building: Build high-quality backlinks from reputable and relevant websites. This can be done through guest blogging, content partnerships, influencer collaborations, and creating link-worthy content that naturally attracts backlinks.
  8. Social media integration: Integrate social sharing buttons on your website to encourage visitors to share your content on social media platforms. This can increase your content's visibility and potentially generate more backlinks.
  9. Monitor and analyze: Regularly monitor your website's performance using tools like Google Analytics. Analyze important metrics such as traffic sources, user behavior, conversion rates, and keyword rankings. Use this data to identify areas for improvement and adjust your SEO strategy accordingly.
Remember, optimizing your website is an ongoing process. Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and user preferences to ensure your website remains competitive and provides a great experience for your audience.

Website optimization is a process of using strategies and experiments to improve the performance of a website, drive traffic, and increase conversions.

There are several ways to optimize a website, including improving website speed, user experience, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.

To optimize a website, one can implement UI/UX web design practices, compress images, minimize the number of JavaScript and CSS files, and add the main keyword early on in the content.

Technical SEO is also important, which involves having a solid website architecture, researching keywords, building backlinks, and optimizing for search intent.

Website optimization tools can help analyze a site's current performance and identify areas for improvement.

The best website optimization strategies focus on improving user experience, helping visitors navigate website content easily through user-friendly design, mobile responsiveness, and better accessibility.

Website optimization is important because it improves user experience, traffic, ranking, accessibility, and conversion rates.
