Linkbuilding to AMP pages

Hi all,

New to the forum and have a quick question:

I am linkbuilding for a client, specifically to their category pages, through mostly guest posting on good DA sites.

Using Ahrefs, I can see that the backlinks are shared across the subfolder of the cateogory, for example: '/category' & '/category/london/' & '/category/manchester' etc.

However, I can't see that these are shared on the AMP versions. Obviously local search for these categories are very important.

My question: Should I be building back links to our AMP pages as well, given the importance of local / near me searches, I want these pages to rank as high as possible.

Thanks

To increase readability, most pages are being made as mobile friendly. Therefore, if you are wondering about whether you should be building backlinks on AMP or not, the answer is, yes. However, you need to understand about AMP beforehand so that you can create useful backlinks on such pages. The full form of AMP is Accelerated Mobile Pages, and Google introduced it in 2015. Following are a few of the positive aspects of AMP -

  • AMP will improve your page speed
  • It can boost rank on Google
  • It can generate more traffic
  • AMP is loaded by Google server; hence your readers won't face any glitches.
