afternoon all,

i was hoping to grab your thoughts on something. One area i always struggle with is location based search terms E.G. "dentist in XXX". What sorts of techniques do you guys feel work best with location based search terms, is it creating as much content with the location mentioned in it? specific location based links?

All other search terms are not doing too badly its just location based and i am scratching my head abit!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

To rank the location page, follow the below mentioned points-
Create Location Pages

1. create separate, optimized pages for each business location like

/locations/dentist-swansea/
/locations/dentist-edgeworth/
/locations/dentist-raymond-terrace/

2. These should not be identical. Include:

That location’s name, address, and phone number (NAP)

3. Create Location-specific content (staff information, testimonials, news, etc.)

4. An embedded Google Map

5. Descriptions of where and how to get to your business - including mentions of local landmarks that Google can connect as entities. It will helps to increase local search signal of your location pages

6. Location-specific comments and reviews from customers

7. Location-specific Title Tags and Meta Descriptions

8. Images from inside your business and the team members that work there

9. Create local citation

10. Create links for location pages

For searching local queries you can have a look at the following tips:
1. Find location-based long-tail keywords.
2. Giving content in the local language is another game-changer. Try finding keywords that are more localized.
3. Try resonating with your content with your local audience.

If you want to rank in a particular location then you should create some location-based pages. Create a page based on the nearest city/area. After that, you have to optimize your content based on the location. Try to use some voice search optimized keywords like “dentist near city name” “dentist near area name” and all. Check out the following points to get quick access –

  • Write content based on the local audience.
  • Use a location-based primary and secondary keyword in your content.
  • Create backlink from local business listing sites.
  • Write Location-based Meta content
  • Location-based reviews.

First of all, you should create an entire page based on your location. That's very important to get Google bots sure where do you offer services. The specified city must appear on meta titles and description, H1-H3 headers and in the main content. A good idea is also to put office address in the footer and topbar. Secondly, you need to get Google My Business listing with the particular address, contact data and your website's URL. You can also insert Google Map embed on your homepage and other pages. When your location-based site will look good, get some backlinks from sites related to your area.
