Measuring Individual Page Performance

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

Recently a client of has launched two new web pages.

What is the best way to monitor how this/if this has helped improved their search engine results. What’s the best way to track this?

The tools i have access to are GA, Search Console, SEM Rush and Moz. Any measuring tactics in anything of them particularly useful? How would you go about measuring the web pages?

Thanks,
Dale

I assume they are additional pages to an already established website and you are not meaning two new websites on different domains ?

  1. What kind of pages are they ?

I would assume there is a reason/cause for these new pages, such as new product, service or simply a new target market.

  2. Do the pages have any kind of call to action ?
  3. Have you setup events/goals associated with those pages in analytics ?

Depending on the type of call to action, events and goals should be set, it will give a definitive view of user flow , entries, exits and bounces.

  4. Are there any "new" search terms that the particular pages are aimed towards ?

If so you should be position monitoring and tracking the landing page usage.
You can also consider visual aids, such as live heatmaps, Screen recorders such as Smartlook etc which will give you an idea of exactly how users interact with those particular pages. Screen recorders are particularly interesting.

Thanks for your reply!

See the answers to your questions below:
What kind of pages are they? - pages to gather further information on offers available
Do the pages have any kind of call to action? - No CTA just information
Have you setup events/goals associated with those pages in analytics? - Nothing specific as there is not too much to track
Are there any "new" search terms that the particular pages are aimed towards? - Nothing too specific

Are there any specific tools for position monitoring you would recommend?

On a side note, is there an area within Search Console which tells me a lsit of URLs which have been crawled and when?

Thanks

If they are not targetting anything specific and have no purpose other than information then there could be an argument to combine/merge that info into other existing pages on the site. But obviously only you will know the reasons why they are there so every site will be different.

Any commercial Rank tracker will provide pretty much the same data, from Moz to my personal favourite "Rank tracker" by SEO Powersuite. But obviously to be able to track positions you actually need to be targetting some keyphrases to track.

Search console doesnt provide a list of indexed pages, but a simple Google of the URL will tell you if its indexed, if you then view the cached result it will tell you when it was last crawled. You can use Search console to crawl a page individual and submit to index to speed up indexing if they are not yet listed.
