Question New Keyword got website on 1st page How?

Hi guys.

I'm new to SEO so please accept my apologies if I make any mistakes.

I have 2 friends who have websites.


-One paid the guy that manages his website £250 and got him 4 words on the 1st-2nd page of Google(under 1-year website).

1st word /phrase was there after only 10 hours.

That word /phrase is only seen in 1-2 places on the website (was there already for ages).



-The 2d guy has a website with someone else and has the same problem.

Is on the 2nd page of google after few days but the keyword is nowhere to be found on the website.



How did they do that as we can't see any changes to the website/code?

Is there a hidden way to add keywords to a website.


Any ideas will be appreciated.

Actually there are some techniques that helps to improve the rank of a site and when these techniques goes wrong they results in rank loss as well. I think the ranking entirely depends on the back links and proper SEO techniques. One of my friend struggled to rank his keyword Phentermine and he was able to do it after much struggle.

Getting rank for your website in no time can result in some black hat practices. They should be avoided because it won't keep your keywords longer on the first page of Google.

You should ask your SEO guys to be transparent to you about the strategies they apply, atleast you should have enough knowledge of where your links are going?
There are many black hat SEO techniques SEOs are applying to get rank in the short time but if the strategies do not fall into Google's algorithm guidelines, they will hurt your page ranking and website after long run.
