Forum link building can still be a useful technique if done correctly, but it's not as effective as it used to be in the past. Nowadays, search engines like Google tend to give more value to links that come from high-quality, relevant websites rather than from forums, which are often considered to be lower quality.

Here are some other methods of link building that you may find useful:

  1. Guest blogging: This involves writing articles for other websites in exchange for a link back to your site.
  2. Broken link building: This involves finding broken links on other websites and reaching out to the webmaster to suggest a replacement link to your site.
  3. Infographic link building: This involves creating an informative and visually appealing infographic and reaching out to other websites to see if they would like to publish it on their site with a link back to your site.
  4. Skyscraper technique: This involves finding content that is already popular and creating even better content on the same topic, then reaching out to websites that linked to the original content and asking them to link to your improved version.
  5. Link reclamation: This involves finding mentions of your brand or website on other websites that do not currently link back to you and asking the webmaster to add a link.
Overall, the best approach to link building is to focus on creating high-quality content that people will naturally want to link to. This will help to build a strong and sustainable link profile over time.

Forum link building can still be effective if done properly, but there are many other methods to consider. Guest blogging, broken link building, and creating high-quality content that naturally earns links are all great options. It's important to focus on earning links from authoritative sites relevant to your niche. Additionally, don't forget the value of social media and building relationships with influencers in your industry. Remember, the goal should always be to create valuable content and earn links naturally, rather than relying solely on link building tactics.

forum link building is a really old technique, but it still works. A lot of people sell this service. But really don't go overboard with this technique because you can get spammed. But a small number of links from forums on a regular basis can still be put in to give the search engine a signal that users are interested in the website

Forum link building can be considered an older technique in the realm of SEO. While it can still be effective if done correctly, there are other methods of link-building that have gained prominence in recent years. Here are some alternative link-building strategies you can consider:
  1. Content Marketing: Creating high-quality, informative, and engaging content on your website is a powerful way to attract natural backlinks. By producing valuable content that others find useful, they are more likely to link to it from their own websites, blogs, or social media platforms.
  2. Guest Blogging: Writing and publishing articles on other relevant and authoritative websites in your industry allows you to reach a wider audience and acquire quality backlinks. Guest blogging establishes your expertise, builds relationships with other site owners, and drives referral traffic.
  3. Influencer Outreach: Collaborating with influencers and industry experts can help you gain exposure and generate backlinks. This can be done through partnerships, interviews, expert roundups, or product reviews. Influencers' endorsements can lead to increased visibility and credibility.
  4. Broken Link Building: This method involves finding broken links on other websites that point to content similar to yours and reaching out to the site owners, suggesting they replace the broken link with a link to your relevant content. It provides value to the website owner by helping them fix broken links while earning you a quality backlink.
  5. Social Media Engagement: Active participation on social media platforms can help you build relationships, promote your content, and attract organic backlinks. By sharing valuable content, engaging with your audience, and networking with other industry professionals, you can increase your chances of acquiring links.
  6. Resource Link Building: Creating comprehensive and informative resource pages, guides, or tools that provide value to your target audience can attract natural backlinks. People often link to such resources as references, making it a valuable link-building strategy.

Here are a few more link-building strategies you can consider:
  1. Skyscraper Technique: This technique involves finding popular content in your industry, creating something even better and more comprehensive, and then reaching out to websites that linked to the original content, suggesting they link to yours instead. It's a method that leverages the existing link opportunities and provides value to website owners.
  2. Local Citations: If you have a local business, building local citations can help improve your online visibility and local search rankings. Submit your business information (name, address, phone number) to local directories, review sites, and online listings relevant to your location and industry.
  3. Infographics: Creating visually appealing and informative infographics can be a great way to attract backlinks. Share them on your website and encourage others to embed them on their own sites, providing proper attribution and a backlink to your website.
  4. Expert Roundups: Reach out to industry experts and ask for their insights on a specific topic. Compile their responses into a comprehensive blog post or article, and then notify the participants. They are likely to share the content and link back to it, expanding your reach and acquiring backlinks.
  5. Broken Content Reclamation: Find websites that have linked to content similar to yours but are no longer available or have moved. Reach out to the site owners, informing them about the broken link and suggesting they replace it with a link to your relevant and updated content.
  6. HARO (Help a Reporter Out): Sign up for HARO, a platform that connects journalists and bloggers with sources. Respond to relevant queries in your industry and provide valuable insights or quotes. If your response gets featured, you'll receive a backlink to your website.
  7. Social Bookmarking: Submitting your content to social bookmarking sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg can help increase its visibility, attract traffic, and potentially earn backlinks if the content resonates with the community.
Remember, building high-quality backlinks takes time and effort. It's essential to focus on creating valuable content, fostering relationships with other website owners, and promoting your brand in a genuine and ethical manner. A diversified and holistic approach to link-building can yield more sustainable and long-term results.
