I have been able to reduce page loading times quite considerably by optimising images etc but still face issues with slow loading. I did a traceroute to the Node4 server farm where its hosted and found that it took 135ms involving a total of 15 hops - one of which timed out. See attached. The route appeared to go through London, Penistone, Sandridge, London, Yorkshire and ended in Derby. Presumably there are hundreds of call on the server to load one page. 1st question is, would this be a major factor?
Or is it the redundant script in the page? I did a Lighthouse test and the results are attached also. The detailed analysis suggested that it was unused CSS however I temporarily stripped a lot of this out using a plugin but it had little effect if any.
2nd question is, would an experienced developer be able to correct this issue and how much time would be involved in fixing the Home page and 2 other popular pages?
