Which software do you use to create graphics with?

I have always used Photoshop Cs3, I have messed about in gimp and I did not like it.

Photoshop CS4. I had CS3 then ironically one of my friends had CS4, and didn't need it so I gladly upgraded.

I've used both for a very long time. I used GIMP for six months and Photoshop for just over a year. Photoshop is by far my preference.

I'll give you an example.

When I was using GIMP, I had to go through what? 4? Maybe 5 steps just to add a simple border/stroke. In Photoshop, it's one click. Done! Simple.

Photoshop any day, mainly for the reason Terry gives, it just does it for you. No hassle, no pain.

Yeah, for me GIMP is a decent free alternative. No need to go illegal.

Yeah GIMP can be pretty good, epically if you add plugins to it.

I guess it's a bit slower but I love the alpha to logo effects, they're really quick and make things look good.

I've always used GIMP, it supports a great many file formats and I like the layer style editing one can do on it, one can also draft up alot of graphics quite quickly with the plugins and the image filters. It's quite a powerful program for something that I believe is OpenSource.

If simple images are Gimp, then Photoshop is a bit more complicated.
