Hi All,

A quick question. When working with ecommerce clients, does pagination affect product SEO? E.g: a product being on page 10 compared to page 1?

Thanks,

I don't feel that will make any difference. But what I suggest then when you are working with e-commerce websites try to use the slug properly to describe the product. If you use effective slug then no matter your product lies it will make into search results better.

All products should be included in a sitemap, all products should have unique aspects of the page as normal such as Title, description, meta data.

Rather importantly you need to ensure your canonical and category page pagination are set the way you want them. Having a product on page 10 could potentially lessen its impact if canonicals are not set properly. There are so many possible routes to take, so it heavily depends on your site in question.

Ecommerce product page SEO. Not only does a product description provide you with another opportunity to weave in your targeted keywords to appease search engines, you can really sell your product to potential customers.

Well when doing search engine optimization Brisbane on a product and it is easier seen in search pages then logically it would reach a wider market than those in the later pages.

John Mueller commented, “We don’t treat pagination differently. We treat them as normal pages.”
Meaning paginated pages are not recognized by Google as a series of pages consolidated into one piece of content as they previously advised. Every paginated page is eligible to compete against the root page for ranking.
