Question Single page multiple results SEO advice

I have a website which has a blog.

This page lists the first 10 blogs and shows a page index so the user can navigate between pages. The urls when you first each the page is

example.com/blog/
Click page 1 then you see
example.com/blog/p=1
(Note the parameter). For SEO purposes should this page have a canonical link as
example.com/blog/
or is it recommended to have the parameter passed in so each page is considered different therefore before SEO results?

It depends on how you wish to structure your site and how you want it indexed.

My personal two faviourites are

Canonical URL to category base for paginated pages, no-index / nofollow the pagination.

Or

Canonical URL to base category, but no-index / follow pagination pages. So crawlers still crawl the pages but do not index them.

I generally no-index, no follow paginated pages if i have no need or can't make each page, meta title and description completely unique and in those cases I ensure that my navigation, sitemaps and internal linking is top priority.

So if each blog on a given page is linked to another page which contains the full article, I could still have separate canonical links for the pages with numbers?

Some reports I've run suggest these pages are duplicate but I could make the pages as one by adding a canonical link for all of them or give them individual page numbers/canonical so they are considered as multiple pages by Google therefore more content?
