A Nofollow link does not count as a point in the page favor. This type of link does not boost page rank and does not help to page placement in SERP.

No Follow link created as:
<a href="link_webpage" rel="nofollow">link text</a>

Dofollow Link passes a credit and they definitely help the website, in order to achieve ranking in SERP.

Dofollow link created as:
<a href="link_webpage" rel="external">link text</a>

Do follow and no follow are link attributes and contain instructions for search engine robots. Do follow links are crawled and indexed in search engines whereas no follow links are never crawled and indexed in search engines.

No-follow link and Follow link both are parts of inbound linking, so before going any further I would first like to explain inbound linking in brief. Inbound linking is a method of directing the crawler and search engine or sometimes any one of these to a particular page or URL. This method can also help in increasing referral traffic of your site and thus improving your ranking on SERPs. Inbound also prove helpful even if your page is not available on SERPs because a user can reach you from any other page.

Now that we have understood what is inbound linking let us see the difference between follow and no-follow link -

Follow Link – Follow links are those which can be crawled by the search engine crawler. This is may increase or provide a point to increase your trust score which improves your ranking on Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) if it is a relevant hyperlink.

Written as:
<a rel=”dofollow” href=”https://(your domain)/” >Makewebbetter</a>

But you can avoid specifying rel=”dofollow” in case of follow links as by default it is considered dofollow.

No-Follow – Links which cannot be crawled by the search engine crawler is considered to be a nofollow link. These links can only be visited by a user and are of no help to the webmaster. The syntax for defining is as follows:

<a rel=”nofollow” href=”https://(your domain)” >Makewebbetter</a>

A no follow link is a link that does not count as a point in the page's favor, does not boost PageRank, and doesn't help a page's placement in the SERPs. No follow links get no love. Theirs is a sad and lonely life. The nofollow tag is basically a notice sign for search engines saying “don't count this

Dofollow links permit search engines and humans to follow them to reach websites. Nofollow links don’t help your site gain credibility in the eyes of search engines
