I have seen this trait quite a lot now! Many Digital marketing aspirants are hired for the post of Digital Marketing executive/ analyst/ xyz. But they are forced to do the Business Development kind of work straightaway or later! Isn't this fraud? Or is it because they don't know - what falls under Digital Marketing and what doesn't fall?
I think this happens because there is a lot of ambiguity, confusion related to this field of Digital Marketing! And the recruiter may not necessarily know about the exact job responsibilities that a Digital Marketing guy goes through!
Ideally Digital Marketing is Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Paid Marketing, Social Media Paid Marketing, Social Media Optimization, Content Optimization, Content Paid Marketing, User Experience Optimization, Analytics Tools and that's it. Video marketing can be used in SEO and SMO so need to mention it separately, right?
So now I wonder the things like Email Marketing, Lead Generation, Lead Acquisition, Lead Conversion, Social Enhancement, Social Networking, and all this stuff has nothing to do with Digital Marketing. DM is all about producing and marketing a qualitative content that will form a scope for the BDM/BDE to generate leads.
Can somebody please shed some light on this topic? Can we discuss it?
