Hi,

I'm having trouble with organic sitelinks. They seem to be appearing twice i.e "Contact Contact", "About About", "Our Work Our Work" etc and I can't work out why...

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi @auton1989,
Hope you're doing good.

Getting to your query, as you know sitelinks help to improve the appearance of your snippet in the Google SERPs. Sitelinks are links as you know are links shown below the description of your snippet, pointing towards other important pages of your site.

Before I get to your problem let me tell you the anatomy of Goole search snippets. A Google search snippet consist of the following parts:
  • Title
  • URL
  • Description
  • Sitelinks
The appearance first 3 parts can be controlled as a part of your on-page SEO activities. But for sitelinks, you can't directly select what is shown and how it is shown on the SERPs. Google shows the sitelinks to the users only for certain queries when it's algorithms feel that it could be helpful for his users.

But sitelinks are actually the reflection of what you feed in your site structure. If there's an error with the page structure or content then it will surely reflect on your sitelinks.

The duplicate information is shown might be you've unknowingly used duplicate information on your page or might be you've structured the information twice in your code and the search engine crawlers are crawling it twice.

If you can provide me the link to the site it might help me in finding the root cause.

Thank You !!
