Changing blog post title

Hiya

If I change a blog post title to update it (2021 to 2022 in the title) does it change the URL and will I lose traffic from any existing backlinks?

Someone suggested 301 redirects?

No, if you update your blog post title then the URL does not change automatically if you want to change the URL then do and You will not lose traffic.

When a page's location has permanently changed, a 301 is used.

Hiya,

I work in the digital marketing team at TKG. (The Klyne Group includes brands such as CuddleCo and Doona.) Once published, it will only change the title. Even if your title usually creates the URL when you are starting to draft a brand new article.

If you have a date in the title, you'll probably want to change it, right? This means you'll need to delete the old page and create a brand new one, 301 redirecting the old one into the new one. This will bounce your traffic into the new article.
