When requesting donations for your forum, what is the best way to go about it?

Just have a donation page and a link in your nav bar.

I have a topic on my forums, and a link to it in my signature. I think that's the best way to go about it, so long as you aren't like: "DONATE OR YOU'RE BANNED!" every 3 seconds
