Should i buy backlinks

I need some suggestions. I have optimized my website content and created free backlinks, but my website is still not ranking. Should I consider buying paid links? Some of my keywords were ranking, but after a few days, Google de-ranked them.

Before spending money on links, it's worth diagnosing why the pages dropped, because paid links rarely fix the underlying cause and can make things worse if the site looks unnatural.

A few things to check first:

1. The ranking-then-dropping pattern is common for new or thin pages. Google often tests a new page, then settles it lower once it has more engagement data. It doesn't necessarily mean a penalty.

2. Most "free backlinks" (profiles, directories, forum signatures) pass almost no ranking power. So the site may effectively have very little real link equity — which is a different problem than needing paid links specifically.

3. Check the basics: is the page actually indexed, does it match search intent for the keyword, and is the content meaningfully better than what's already ranking?

Buying links sits squarely against Google's spam policies, and cheap paid links are the ones most likely to be ignored or flagged. If you do invest budget, digital PR or genuinely useful resources that earn links organically tend to be the safer spend.

Great advice! I agree that diagnosing the underlying issue should always come before investing in backlinks. Content quality, search intent, indexing, and topical relevance all play an important role in sustainable SEO growth. I’d also recommend reviewing internal linking and checking Google Search Console for impressions, clicks, and ranking changes before making major decisions. The pattern you describe, keywords ranking and then dropping a few days later, is usually Google testing the page and then finding it doesn't hold up against the competition yet. Before spending on links, pull up the pages that held those positions and compare them honestly with yours on depth, freshness and how many referring domains they have. If they have 30 relevant sites linking and you have a handful of directory links, that is the real gap. Earning even five or six links from niche blogs or local publications through outreach or a useful data piece will usually do more than a batch of cheap paid links, and it carries far less risk.
