Google listing

Hi All
What makes a listing appear further down google? I'm referring to the 'bold/map' listings. My website is well optimized and my competitors are not great, so why do i appear further down the list? Does how close your premises is to the location? For example; chemists in Brighton... do the chemists closest to the town rank higher? Thanks so much

Many factors come into play here. if you mean google maps? then such things as reviews, posting regular pictures, and updating your feed are important
