Keyword research - Google Keyword Planner - How do search volume add up

Hi there,

On Google Keyword Planner I noticed that the keywords that are very close in terms of syntax always have the same avg. monthly search volume (well, most of the time).

Here is an example:

• best ski resort france - 880 avg. searches/month
• best ski resorts france - 880 avg. searches/month
• best ski resort in france - 880 avg. searches/month

Do you know if these values can be cumulated? Is there 2,640 avg. searches/month in total for these 3 keywords? or only 880?
