Linking

I am a bit confused about the linking. Google recommends linking for some reason. Wordpress recommends linking so much that they ask you to link your own pages between it. I though linking should be done to make your article more relevant? You write an article about carpet cleaning & you add a link to a carpet cleaning shampoo. But things have changed big time.

Wordpress & yoast SEO recommending links between pages on the same page sounds like a way of misleading search engines. Is like a dude planning to get a mortgage & the bank asks for 6 months of great history. That dude has behaved un-natural just to get mortgage approval. That is not him. The banks knows that he is a liar, he knows that he is a liar & the financial regulatory knows that is all a show.

Same with the links. Google knows that people only link for SEO & the person that creates thousands of links knows that those links will never help anyone.
