Most Significant SEO Update in the last 6 months?

I've been completely out of the SEO game for the above mentioned period of time because I was really depressed over Panda destroying each and everyone of my websites. Now that I have taken a break, I want to start again from scratch.

I am just wondering what is the most significant SEO update in the last 6 months. I'm pretty sure that Panda will continue to roll out given how successful it was at putting people out of business like me.

Any new tips and strategies for the new age?

There has not been any significant SEO updates from Google in last couple of months. The last page rank update was cancelled by them.
