What do you do when a topic totally de-rails? Do you try and get it back on track? Maybe you close and lock it? Do you just continue posting and don't care at all?

Depends on what you mean. If it's just going off topic, I'd ask them to get back on topic. If an argument was brewing, I'd PM the members and delete the posts.
