Are You Interested In Bitcoins?

It seems like year after year, more and more people keep getting interested in Bitcoins, even though more and more people keep predicting its eventual demise as well. The whole system and economy has now been up and running for a number of years now, and it seems to just get stronger and more integrated into the market. Do you think this popularity will last? Why or why not? Also, what do you think about the current alternative/s that have popped up such as Litecoin? Does it mean that Bitcoin will now have a competitor and possibly lose some of its value?
