In comparison to optimising a Google Business Profile, I've been wondering how much weight people still place on local citations (Yell, FreeIndex, ThomsonLocal, etc.).
I've seen rankings rise in some situations simply by obtaining consistent NAP across a few directories, but in other instances, the GMB profile—which includes photos, reviews, and posts—seemed to have a greater impact.
How are all of you juggling the two? Do you put more effort into optimising GMB or do you prioritise directory listings first? I'd be interested in knowing how other people tackle this in 2025.
