GMB/Map for Realtor with no Business Address

Hi,

I have a client who has asked me to do some local SEO work on his new site.

I'm not 100% sure what to do.

He's in a pretty small town and he mentioned there were 110 other agents in his area, but when I looked on Google Maps, I saw only 12. So I thought it would be a great idea to get him showing on the map.

However he's self-employed and it turns out that he's licensed through an estate agency, so he gives out their address officially.

That agency is already on Google Maps.

So I wanna know what my/his best course of action is.

For a home-based realtor, you can set up a Google My Business profile as a service area business and hide the physical address. That should let them appear in local maps without needing a separate storefront. Did the agency's existing listing cause any verification problems?

p.s. you can set up a service area business for the realtor and hide their home address. That will let them appear in local search without conflicting with the agency.

Since he's licensed through the agency, the safest route is a service-area business listing under his own name as an individual agent, with his address hidden — Google allows practitioners like agents to have their own profile even when the agency already has one. Just don't copy the agency's name or address into his listing; that's exactly what triggers duplicate-flagging and suspensions. With only 12 of 110 agents showing on the map, there's a real opening here, so define his service areas carefully, add real photos of his work, and build reviews on his own listing rather than the agency's. The agency profile should stay untouched as the organisation listing. Back it all up with service-area pages on his site and consistent NAP across the main directories, and the map pack spot should follow.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to chime in. For a home-based realtor, you can set up a Google My Business profile as a service area business and hide the physical address. That should let them appear in local maps without needing a separate storefront. Did the agency's existing listing cause any verification problems?
