Index mobile version rather than web

there are two versions of the site live at all times www. and m. The content needs to be added to both versions, so that users get the same information, but from a Google bot point of view, I want them to only index the m. version of the site. We want to approach the site mobile first, and where there is an m. version, this is the best way to do it. The bots will simply be pointed to the version of the content I want them to rank, but the user won't be interrupted.
