Which is better to use for the ‘ALT’ text on a railway photo.

LMS Princess Coronation Class Pacific No.6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ is seen passing Dawlish seafront working the 1Z82 0847 Bristol Temple Meads to Par "The Royal Duchy" on the 15th September 2019.

6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’

Alt text should be short and descriptive of the image, it's there to describe the image should it not load or being viewed on a reader which doesnt load images.

So personally id opt for something like "6233 Duchess of Sutherland seen passing Dawlish seafront"

All the other info I would assume is within the page content and doesnt need to be within the image text. You can however use "captions" to describe more information of the image which would sit below the image.

Image ALT text should be small and proper. I will suggest you add 4-6 words in your ALT text. For optimising SEO purpose you should proper Title and description of the images along with the ALT text.
