Securing your network

What security patches do you guys apply in order to keep your networks safe. Cyber-crime is on the rise and there are new security threats cropping up almost everyday. Many small businesses are losing money online and I was hoping for some good suggestions here.

I code most of my sites myself, and when I hire someone for programming I can analyze the code, and do my prior research to make sure I'm receiving quality coding. Security isn't much of a concern for me.
