Bubblews as a Marketing Platform

Bubblews is a program much akin to MyLot and revenue sharing sites such as Squidoo and Hubpages, where you can write articles or additional content for a share of revenue based on the number of views, likes, and comments your content receives. Only, they call them "bubbles", which is obviously the gimmick for the site. I have seen some very creative use of MyLot and Squidoo to promote products and such, and after dabbling in the platform, I agree it has the same potential. The only problem is it isn't as popular. I haven't found much success with it yet, but then again it's only been one week.

Has anyone else tried to use Bubblews or sites like it for marketing? How successful were you?

I haven't really tried any websites like that for the use of marketing. Maybe I'll try them all out to see if it can help with marketing and promoting my websites and blogs. :D

I just heard of Bubblews for the first time yesterday. From what someone was saying, it doesn't sound like a very profitable way to earn an income from writing. I didn't realize that it could be used for marketing, so that might make it worth it. I've tried Hubpages in the past, but they told me that my original content wasn't original enough. I felt like there was too much competition on that sight, so maybe a less popular site would be the way to go. I'll check it out.

I am not making use of Bubblews to market anything but if I will, I will going to try this out on Bubblews. I am plainly making money on this site and no promotion or advertising of whatsover. But I think it would be a good platform for advertising.

Bubblews can be a very great way to market your site as you can write about an article that is related to yours and add a link to that article. What's more, you get paid to write such articles and the rules are quite "simple" to use but in case you break any of the rules, you stand a chance of being banned or not paid altogether.

Actually bubblews is a very good revenue sharing site unlike Hubpages where you articles have to pass a certain quality before being published. I have accounts in both sites so I pretty much knw what I am talking about. :) You can check out my profile at bubblews using this referral link here or you can Google it and see for yourself.

All in all, in bubblews you don't have to be an article writing expert since you can basically write about anything in English and as long as it is more than 400 characters, then you will have nothing to worry about. What's more, you get paid for every like, view, dislike and comment. Each of these is roughly 1 cent. So if you get a total of 1000 (i.e likes, dislikes, comments and views) from your post(s) you stand to get $10 . Pay out is at $25.

It definitely will market your website and the easiest way to do that is by writing about a similar article to that in your site. All you have to do is write a brief or mini version of your site and add a link to your article before or after you finish writing the post on Bubblews. :) and voila.

I have been on Bubblews for about 2 months now and write one 400 word article a day on average. The minimum length on Bubblews is 400 characters. I have not linked my other more substantial articles to Bubblews yet because I believe it can be seen as breaking the rules. Links are only allowed for reference not to make money on another site. However I do think Bubblews has got potential because it allows really short articles. It can be a good site to publish catch phrases that can lead to valuable discussions. At one cent per view, comment or like it is the highest paying site I can think off. At the moment I have reached the pay out moment (25 dollars) twice and I have received the 2 payments as well.
The biggest flaw of the Bubblews site is that the rules can be open to interpretation at the moment. When you do not abide by the rules, you do not get paid. In my view there are a lot of people out there inadvertently breaking the rules. This causes friction among the members.
However, I must say the site works well for me.

I agree. That's why there are a lot of people who complains of not getting paid because they broke some rules on Bubblews. In my case, I am still trying to reach $25 and hopefully I can achieve it this month. Yes. It's not allowed on this site that you provide affiliate or referral links. When it comes to marketing, I can see that Bubblews has the potential to increase your site's visibility.

I was with MyLot for years but I never used it to market too much. It was made obvious that selling and recruiting was frowned upon by disallowing referral links, so I mostly just used it for discussion. Seeing that BubbleWs is similar, I don't think it would be too easy, but I doubt that it's impossible.

I've just recently begun using Bubblews and I am using it more as a branding device than anything else. My username there is the same as at the blog I'm working on, plus I have it linked on my profile. As my blog builds, I'll be using it as a source for more of my articles, plus I'll be linking my Bubblew posts on my blog. I figure I'm getting paid to market my blog this way, which is a great thing in my eyes.

The writing part about it does sound very interesting, however the fact the rules appear to be a little free and loose is worrisome.

How long did it take for you to receive your payment after you requested it? You mention the rules seem to subject to interpretation - can you cite specifics?

Well I on both occasions I got my e-check as promised within 72 hours. Both checks cleared within 3 working days. It can take up to 5 working days for e-checks to clear in PayPal.
The rules do not seem free and loose when you first read them. They seem pretty straightforward. However when you read that porn is not allowed, everyone will think:"That is easy, I know what porn is." However, just imagine that someone wants to post a joke that is perfectly acceptable where he/she grew up and that the joke is considered to be porn by other people. The site is currently not monitored before publication. It may happen that the joke gets flagged as inappropriate by readers. When this happens 3 times, a joke that was meant to be harmless , will be deleted.
Secondly, writers are asked not to abuse the likes system.
Again this seems normal. It is normal at first glance. It says specifically not to take part in exchange groups. That is a good specification. Yet the rule needs to be specified further to be on the safe side. I have heard of a writer posting on 6 twitter accounts of his own. I have seen the same person complaining about not being paid his redeems. He says he did nothing wrong. In my view it would be more natural to tweet only once and to be retweeted by others or to be tweeted by readers. I on the other hand only post my articles once on Facebook. That seems natural to me and sometimes I end up sharing articles by others instead of my own.
It would be nice if those rules were specified/ explained a bit further by the Bubblews staff.
These are only examples of 2 out of 8 rules. I hope this will give you some idea.
I guess all 8 rules seem pretty straightforward, but since we all are human I can understand people interpreting them differently.

I agree with littlebelgianwriter. I think most of the time, when it comes to programs like these, the general rule is just to keep it organic. There will always be people who push the limits whether knowingly or otherwise, but it shouldn't be held against a legitimate and paying company. It's understandable that they would want to protect their business. Complaints like that makes it a bit difficult to gauge the reviews sometimes as well, and that's why I love going to forums like these to read about honest, first hand experiences from members. Thanks!

I don't think Bubblews is a good site for marketing. The rules are very simple but while the rules say that you can put links on your articles as reference it's better not doing it because many people are getting penalized for that because if you are linking to any site that looks like a one you are earning money from you won't get paid at Bubblews.

Bubblews is a good way to make money but not to promote yourself or drive traffic to your own sites. That's a shame.

I mainly use Squidoo to market my ebook and my blog; but I don't really use my Bubblews account to market my work. I personally don't believe that Bubblews is the site to promote yourself or your product. I simply write useful and interesting posts (unrelated to my ebook) and have a link to my blog on my profile page, and I think that's all I need to do promote myself as a writer.

Wow! I was definitely not expecting so many thought out replies, but I agree that the platform's rules can be interpreted a bit haphazardly, are somewhat unclear, and ought to be a little more specific so that such things as not receiving a promised payment or being banned from the program altogether does not happen.

I've recently become aware of the penalties that referencing sites that are "for profit" can bring a webmaster, so yes. I suppose that finally closes the lid on the matter as to whether this is a good platform for marketing a product or service or not. A shame, indeed. It seems to have a lot of potential, it's too bad it has to be wasted like this.

As far as its money making potential goes, it isn't very potent given the lack of members using it at the moment, but I imagine that will grow in the future (provided they don't run out of business), so writing something quality now may actually pay off in the long run. It isn't particularly useful for short term matters, however.

Would anybody here be interested in teaming up on various places such as Bubblews and Squidoo? The goal would be to put out quality content while inter-linking to each other (ideally, two or more times the marketing potential). Shoot me a message.

You can place a link to your own website on your profile page at Bubblews. If you become popular there because of what you write, you should get some traffic from people who look at your profile.

Referral links and affiliate links are not allowed. You can place links to sources and websites relevant to what you write in a bubble. Some people might link their own content, but I would not do this as most of mine is on another revenue sharing website and I would not link content on that site on Bubblews, which is also a revenue sharing website.

I know what you mean. I felt the same way when I was back in MyLot. I was spending so much time there that it seemed almost wasteful that wasn't using the opportunity to advertise. But at least it's a fun tool to earn from, and I suspect Bubblews is similar.
